"I truly believe the heart of any program is the people that work there. After meeting the people at Telos my mind was made up. Team Telos is second to none."
"Brian is one of my favorite teachers ever. He knows how to explain things in a way that gets me interested in subjects I always struggled with. In his class I found out I can actually have fun while learning." - Student
He has a BA in History Teaching and is slowly working on an MS in Instructional Psychology. Brian's respective specializations are in modern US History and instructional development. When he isn't advising, you can find Brian either climbing a mountain in search of spiritual enlightenment/sweet photo opps or trying out a new recipe in his ambitious but under-stocked kitchen.
"Krystal really helped me when I first got to Telos. Whether she was helping me with reading or taking me on pass last minute, she helped make my transition back to school less stressful and a lot easier than I thought it was going to be." -Student
Krystal Jensen is the Special Education Coordinator at Telos Academy. She attended Utah State University, where she earned her Bachelors in Special Education with an endorsement in mild-moderate disabilities. Samanta comes from Houston, Texas but was born in Mexico City. She has finished her Bachelors in Psychology from Brigham Young University. During her time at BYU she was able to volunteer and complete internships at Children’s Justice Center and ACAFS (Academy for Child Advocacy & Family Support). Soon after she graduated she served an LDS mission in Riverside, California where she developed a greater love for helping families. In her return from California, Sam worked as a Family Support Liaison for Utah Virtual Academy (UTVA). It was through this experience that she realized she loved helping students succeed in school and, in turn, in other areas. Sam is passionate about building relationships and helping each other become better. If she is not at Telos, she leads a church group of young girls where they do activities such as learning new talents, play sports and do arts and crafts. When she does have free time she loves to cook, go Latin dancing, and go to concerts.

She has taught in the public school system until coming to Telos. She and her husband have four children. When not teaching Rachel loves to paint and hike. She loves the outdoors. Sculpture, drawing, painting, film, photography, music and other mixed media are explored as students are encouraged in a safe environment to enjoy the relaxing and therapeutic nature of art.
"Tyler makes every class an adventure. We do crazy things that actually teach us principles of Chemistry. We all know the most important thing to him is us, the students. I think we all work harder in his class because it's so obvious he cares." -Student
One of my passions in life is sports! I played baseball and basketball through high school. I started for my high school's state championship basketball team my senior year. After high school I began working as a Program Director at the local Boys and Girls Club. A few years later I finished my Associates from Redlands Community College. Later I moved to Utah and began working on a Teaching Physical Science degree from Brigham Young University. During this time I began working as a residential staff at Telos. After interning for Telos Academy I started as a full time teacher. I teach physics, chemistry, physical science, and biology in the academy. I am also the head basketball coach of the Telos Titans!
"Duncan doesn't teach me to be a robot. He teaches me to find my own solutions to problems." - Student
As the product of two polar opposites (a mathematician and an actress), Duncan naturally became a renaissance man. Duncan has competed competitively in both chess and soccer. He has acted in musicals, orchestrated lights for concerts, directed short films, and taught English in foreign countries. For fun, Duncan likes to paint and make mathematical models of cognition. In his math classes, Duncan encourages students to try to solve problems they don't already know how to solve. His goal is not to make computers out of his students but to make them creators of solutions. In his film classes, Duncan aims to block the inception of ideas by teaching students to not view film passively. He aims to help students better understand themselves and others through actively participating in film reception.
